Handguns

This revolver was my first double action revolver. It was one of the first production Ruger Redhawks. The first Redhawks were only available in 44 Mag, and only with a 7 1/2 in. bbl. That's the way this one came. I first read about them in 1983 and had to wait until the summer of 1984 to get one. I had a considerable amount of action tunning and a great trigger job done to this one. I also purchased the optional, colored front sights. I opted for the yellow one.

I used a 250g Hard Cast bullet in front of a heavy load of Blue Dot for most hunting applications. These loads would group under 2 in. at 50 yds. off of a bench. I took several Javelinas with it. One, at over 100 yds. at a dead run. The combination took him out, no problem.

I absolutely loved this revolver, but so did someone else. The revolver was stollen from my home in 1989.

My Dan Wesson M44V 44 Mag. This one has a 10 in. bbl and is scoped with a 1.5-5X scope. Sling studs have also been added to carry it.

I use a 300g Sierra Soft Point with a heavy load of H110 in this big double action revolver. Accuracy is fantastic.

My Ruger Vaquero 45 Colt. This is a stainless model with a 4 5/8 in bbl. It shoots quite well with H lil' gun and a 260g Nosler Partition bullet.

44 Mag. 250g Cast, 44 Mag. 300g Sierra
Not that much difference in the calibers.
