This little beauty is my 25-06 Ackley Improved. It is built off of a LH Remington 700 BDL action. Has a 25 1/4 in. Shillen SS BBL. that has been ported by Mag-na-port to eleminate muzzle hop. It also has a titanium firing pin and a Shillen trigger. I stocked it in Cherry with a walnut grip cap and fore end tip. It is topped with a leupold VariX III 6.5X20 Scope and weighs nearly 11 lbs with five rounds of ammo. This Rocky Mtn. Mulie was taken with a single shot through the lungs at over 500yds.

I use 115g Nosler Partitions, backed by a heavy charge of IMR7828 in this rifle to achieve 3400 fps. With these heavy hunting loads, the rifle shoots a consistant 3/8 minute of angle. This rifle is used for most of my hunting for anything up to and including Big Muleys. I've had clean kills over 600 yds. and have NEVER lost an animal shot with this combination. I've taken in excess of fourty Big Game animals with this one rifle. I've taken it on hunts from Florida to Oregon, coast to coast!

This is a LH Savage 110 chambered in 300 Win. Mag. I dropped it into a Lawson Thumbhole Stock and installed a Sorbacoil recoil pad. It is topped with a Leupold 12X M8 Scope. The thumbhole design reduces felt recoil and is quite steady for making those extended range shots. This free ranging Feral Goat was taken at long range in the Southern New Mexico desert. Great summertime fun! Cartridges for this rifle were loaded with 180g Nosler Partitions and IMR 7828. I hunted everything from Elk to Goats with it. Someone else felt the need for it more than me because it was stolen from my home in October 1989.

This is a Rem. M742 chambered for 30-06 Spg. It is topped with a Leupold VariX III 1.5X5 scope and I used this rifle as my brush gun. I used a 165g Nosler Partition load with IMR 4064. Used for Deer mostly. This rifle was also stolen along with the one above in 1989. This is the best pic I could find of it. |
