i am in the same boat my wife drew the statewide rifle hunt i have seen some in unit 17 on the south east side of the San Mateo's but it was just a handful and about 3 years ago so i don't know if they are still there or not. I think Unit 22 over by Glenwood is supposed to be ok and have some Javelina but i am not sure. And i think that is Unit 22 it would be east of Glenwood unless the boundaries have all changed. Good thing is you have some time to scout and see what you can find. I hope you can find some so good luck and let us know how you do.

Thanks kmen, I have a few ideas but still up for others. I will do some scouting for the hunt. I have a few buddies that will be hunting down south for a Deer hunt that I asked to be on the lookout for me. Good luck on your jave hunt also Thumbs Up!

I think the problem is that most people including myself normally hunt the untit 19 23 through 27 units and not quite sure where the javelina are outside of those units. Have you had a chance to check out Unit 17 yet?

I don't think there are a WHOLE lot of Javelina hunters here. I doubt if many are being "tight-lipped"!

There are other references to good spots in other threads.
