We just drove from Kansas City to Salt Lake City (and then back a week later) going through Wyoming along the way. I have never in my life seen so many antelope. No shit, I must have seen a thousand at the very least. There were a couple of herds by the road that had at least a hundred. Truly incredible.

Shrpshter, It's flat out amazing isn't it? I just got to my folks house here in Casper about an hour ago, and we probably saw about a thousand, which was a slow drive compared to what we usually see. You should see them when the winter sets in, they get into huge groups at that point. We get hundreds (literally HUNDREDS) in the hills that are in our backyard, along with double digits for deer at the same time. I'll try to post a picture of our backyard so you can kinda get a feel for how they are when they pack in. It still amazes me everytime I come up

Yep there were a number of really nice one, you could tell that even at eighty miles an hour. One herd had somehow jumped the fence and were just casually wandering along the grass right next to the asphalt. I had three rifles (and two pistols) with ammo in the car, it was tempting.

Pictures would be great. We did see one big herd like you described, but you can never see too many. You heading home for Thanksgiving? Do you get a chance to hunt them? I'd guess that during hunting season that they're a bit tougher to come across.

Ya, I came home for thanksgiving, long drive but nice to be outta the heat a little, haha. We haven't seen any herds like that yet, but if you saw one you know how amazing it can be. We hunted them alot while I was in highschool, and they were actually fairly easy to hunt if you kinda knew where to go. The problem is that they see so well, that if you tried to get up on a large group there were to many sets of eyes.
I sure do miss hunting them up here
